New Jersey Vote Backs Marijuana for Severely Ill - The New Jersey Legislature approved a measure on Monday that would make the state the 14th in the nation, but one of the few on the East Coast, to legalize the use of marijuana to help patients with chronic illnesses
Members of the Assembly Committee on Health and Senior Servicess approved Assembly Bill 804, New Jersey Compassionate Use Medical Marijuana Act, with a vote of 8-1. The bill will now go before the full Assembly.
A less restrictive version of this proposal, Senate Bill 119, was approved by the Senate in February.
